Weekend in Paris

Our trip to Paris in December was wonderful. I worked a half day at work on Friday, got on the tube to Kings Cross St. Pancras, met Joe and we got on the Eurostar. A little more than 2 hours later, we were in Paris. That is the amazing thing about living in London, the accessibility and the convenience of traveling.

Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I’d rather post some of my favourite shots than to try to explain them in detail. Enjoy!

Friday night’s first stop: The Louvre
Winged Victory of Samothrace. I liked this one because it felt dynamic – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winged_Victory_of_Samothrace
Lunch at Cafe Angelina’s with Eric! Dessert was delicious
Montmartre. The view from the top was gorgeous (see my blog header for the full panorama!)

The Paris Soccer Guy. I didn’t get to see some of his better tricks, but these are still pretty neat.

Delicious gelato – Grace, this was your favourite!
Paris’s Christmas Market is amazing! Puts December Nights to shame (sorry San Diego)
View down the Champs-Élysées with the Arc de Triomphe at the end
I love night shots. The moon and the Arc de Triomphe
Normal Parisian street
With normal Parisian parking I guess :O)
La Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine – It holds replicas and actual carvings from cathedrals all over Europe. You don’t appreciate the size and detail of the sculptures until you see them up close.
Another night shot :O) Carousel with the Eiffel Tower in the background
Last but not least…one of my favourite shots of the Eiffel Tower at night

  1. Love the photos, Deborah. You did a great job selecting the scenery, angle and lighting. So glad you and Joe got to visit Paris.

  2. wow the paris soccer guy is like hackey sack on steroids!! 🙂
euro parking is so funny… isn’t it a trip to see a million smart cars and no hummers, suvs, or trucks? 🙂
